The Nakshatras Of the Jyotish Tradition – Cycles Of The Soul & Iyengar Yoga Sadhana

The Cycles Of Healing For Your Body, Mind, And Soul

The teachings here at Vidya Institute International are dedicated to the two Gurus who have shared so generously with us over the years Sri Krishan Mantriji and B.K.S Iyengar. Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible for us to share these teachings with you.

GETTING THERE

Flying In

Fiumicino (FCO) & Ciampino (CIA) in Rome are the two closest airports. You can also fly into Pisa’s Galileo Galilei Airport (PSA) or Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR), if required, however you should note that your journey to the retreat center will be 30-90 minutes longer.

Getting To The Retreat Center
By Train

Rome has two airports: Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) and Ciampino. From either airport, you have to make your way to Termini Train Station in Rome. Trains leave frequently, however if you’d like to check train times and/or purchase tickets you can do that on the website here:  https://www.trenitalia.com/en/purchase.html

Taking The Train From Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (Fiumicino):

  • Go to the train station terminal found inside the airport.
  • Follow the signs to the Stazione on the upper level of the airport.
  • Buy a ticket to Termini (30-40 mins train ride). This will cost approximately €20.
  • It’s important, after you’ve purchased your train ticket, that you validate it by stamping it in one of the yellow machines found on the platform before you get into the train.
  • Once you arrive in Termini station, purchase a ticket to Orvieto (40-45 minutes by train)
  • Validate your ticket and go to Platform 1, located to the far left of the station about 400 meters down the walkway (double check that it’s the correct platform one in case there’s been a temporary change made.)

Taking The Train From Ciampino Airport:

  • Take the airport bus to Termini Train Station in the center of Rome
  • Once you arrive in Termini station, purchase a ticket to Orvieto (40-45 minutes by train)
  • Validate your ticket and go to Platform 1, located to the far left of the station about 400 meters down the walkway (double check that it’s the correct platform one in case there’s been a temporary change made.)

Getting To Quercia Calante Retreat Center From Orvieto Station:

You can either take a taxi directly to the retreat station for €50 –  the taxi stand is located to the left right as you exit the train station.

OR you can take a bus from Orvieto to Castel Giorgio followed by a €10 taxi to the retreat center. Bus schedule from Orvieto to Castel Giorgio is at 11:50, 13:20, 14:05, 17:25

By Taxi

From Fiumicino or Ciampino Airports: the cost of taxi is €200-260 if you make it straight from the airport to the retreat center. The trip will take roughly 2 hours.
From Pisa Airport: the cost of a taxi is between €300-350
